FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about our roasting equipment advisory, ROI assumptions and what we do not provide.
Our FAQ covers the questions café owners and roasting-company founders ask most often when evaluating industrial drum roasters, sample roaster benches and capital expenditure plans. If your question is not answered here, contact our Ramsay studio.
Is RoastVector a restaurant, coffee franchise or food delivery service?
No. RoastVector is a coffee equipment selection and roasting launch advisory service — we compare industrial roasters, model payback scenarios and consult on in-house roasting setup from our Calgary studio. We do not serve restaurant meals, sell franchise licences or operate food delivery.
What assumptions does the ROI calculator use?
Our payback models incorporate your projected roasted output in kilograms per week, green coffee purchase price, retail or wholesale pricing for roasted product, energy costs per batch, labour hours and equipment financing terms where applicable. All figures are illustrative — actual payback periods vary with market conditions, operator efficiency and roast profile development time. We document every assumption so you can adjust scenarios independently.
How many roaster models do you compare?
Our index covers 48+ industrial drum roaster and sample roaster models from manufacturers serving the Canadian specialty coffee market. Comparison tables normalize batch capacity, burner output, heat exchanger type, control system features and indicative capital expenditure. Not every model suits every operation — we filter by your green-bean throughput targets and installation constraints.
What does a consultation process look like?
Most engagements begin with a discovery call to understand your roasting company or café capital plan. We then recommend a programme or service — comparison, payback sprint or full launch consultancy. Deliverables are documented in writing with spec sheets, models or timelines. On-site visits are available at our Ramsay studio or your facility by arrangement.
What do you NOT guarantee?
We do not guarantee specific financial returns, equipment resale values, regulatory approvals, manufacturer lead times or roast profile outcomes. Our advisory is based on documented spec data and transparent modelling — individual business results depend on your operating decisions, volume growth and market pricing. We are independent advisors, not equipment dealers or franchise licensors.
How do you handle personal information (PIPEDA)?
RoastVector Inc. collects contact details and project information solely to deliver advisory services and respond to enquiries. Data is stored on Canadian infrastructure, retained only as long as needed for the engagement, and never sold to third parties. You may request access, correction or deletion by emailing [email protected]. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Do you work with installation partners?
Yes. Our installation planning and airflow design review services coordinate with mechanical contractors, electricians and roaster manufacturer representatives. We do not perform physical installation ourselves — we review drawings, validate equipment footprints and attend commissioning milestones to ensure your production drum roaster meets spec sheet performance in real conditions.
How should green coffee be handled safely?
Green coffee and roasted coffee require proper storage, ventilation and handling practices. Maintain dry, pest-free storage away from chemicals. Roasting areas need adequate airflow design and fire safety measures. Our advisory covers equipment and workflow — food safety compliance remains your responsibility as the operator. Consult local health authorities for specific requirements in your province.
FAQ content covers specialty coffee roasting equipment selection, payback modelling and launch consultancy for informational purposes. ROI estimates and roaster comparisons reflect illustrative assumptions — individual results vary with volume, pricing, energy costs and operating decisions. We do not guarantee specific business, health or financial outcomes. We do not sell restaurant meals, franchise licences or food delivery services. Green coffee and roasted coffee should be handled and stored safely.
